Each day students will enjoy a milk break after morning recess. Students can have a white milk or they are able to bring water if they choose. Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for milk break. Below are ideas for serving a healthy snack to children.
*Note: Please use this site when considering to bring a birthday treat or treats for the class. *Try to avoid foods with high fructose corn syrup or that are processed!

Fruit: Fresh fruit, applesauce, dried fruit, and frozen fruit.
*Fruit snacks/roll ups are not a healthy choice due to the high content of added sugars and lack of fruit.

Vegetables: Fresh vegetables with low-fat Ranch dressing or ants on a log.

Grains: whole wheat English muffin, breakfast cereal (Cheerios, Grape Nuts, Frosted Mini Wheats), crackers, rice cakes, popcorn (without butter), granola bars.

Dairy: low-fat yogurt and cheese sticks or string cheese.

*Large Group Ideas: Meat/Cheese tray, crackers, fruit tray, vegetable tray, trail mix, granola bars.
